Nice web site! I checked out some of your pics. Did you seriously carry a canoe up to the top of Ishpatina just for that shot? Great shot though, and I'll bet no one has done that before. Cheers! |

Did you really carry canoe up there...? ha ha... Seems like NOT but if so: ...Wow! Maple Mt has some canoes carried to the top! Why? Because it was there..I guess?

The confusion over the Ishpatina trail location comes from the fact that the trailhead to the peak used to be the location of the towerman's cabin, now long gone. The other cabin that you saw is a private land-use permit. You must have seen an older route description that mentioned the towerman's cabin. |

I'm not sure exactly why Michael carried the canoe up the ridge ("because it's there"?) but he did. I thought it was a little silly, but there was no shifting him and no stopping him either. |
