I don't think too many people are visiting the White Bear forest. Too bad since it is only about a 20 minute paddle from Temagami Boat Livery. A great way to spend a day if you like big trees and don't have a lot of time. |

canoebear, Almost finished packing, 2 in my canoe, 1 barrel pack for food and 1 softpack for clothes and gear, and 1 small day pack plus my video camera and digital camera. I have a 15 year old fiberglass canoe the has more scrathes on it than a 90 year old has wrinkles. I have five total on the trip. That means I will be soloing. My canoe partner will also do some soloing in my place at times. I have my canoe partner and myself, one couple and one other guy I have not met yet. We leave Sat. morn. for Southern Obabika Lake. Should be at access point around 4pm portage 1km to Obabika Lake and paddle about 4km to a campsite. Full moon is on Friday. Should have lots of moon light for the week. I spoke to Mother and she is going to give us good weather for the week. Mother is Mother Nature of course. She is in charge of the weather you know. You must treat Mother with espect and kindness, what is the old saying, Nothing has more fury than a female scorned, or something like that. At least that is the way i say it. Hope to see you image on the lake with me, I know you will be there is spirit if you can not be there in body. Hope to see some beaver. I will be listening for them. Send you some of the pictures I take. Bill |

Hay hillbilly, Shouda, wooda, couda, but not quite up-to-tha-mark yet. I'm in great hiken shape, got all my power back to do thems hatefull long dang portages. Need much more paddle time on big water wind driven roller wave type lakes. Fear of crampen-up. 9-weeks of be-en rained-on put me a bit behind. Canoe paddlen up fast current swollen creeks & rivers to make-up tha difference, to put plan B into effect to get wher we need to be. Like to take look-see at yar battle-scared-up Ojibe canoe. More than likely be spitten image of our Mohawks. I'll be chasen after those Full Moons highs of Augusts Sturgeon & Septembers Tha Harvest be-en seen liten-up tha NE waters woods wher much moose, wolves, Black Bears & ghost cougar get wild. Late Autumn Fall trips se-en leaf colors peak change & getten up-close to hugh rack-out moose, wher ther be no canoe campers/nor biten bugs bout. Pray to storm-maker monster, Agawa Tha Thunderbird, fer calm water no rained-on canoe portage trip. That ther under-water lynx serpent be cummen from Tha Great Lake Superior Region headen fer tha NE. Good idea to ask Ed/or alscool to borrow Canoe Dog & that ther Pepper to show tha way out. I wants to go but not ready yet. I wanna get paddles blessed in waters of Temagami & get a glimps of Grey Owls Beavers may-be 'tis year too. If I wood of made trip, I wood of kidnapped Deer Tess & Pal Paul to bring with. Look-up at that ther lit Moons face & hearen wolves a-howlen on that 4th! Hav a safe voyage, Heya!
