Disturbing article in the Thursday Feb 24th Toronto Star: "Boaters fear they will be up the creek without a licence." New Transport Canada rules last Fall are confusing but definitely mean leaders of groups will have to register their canoe/kayak with 5 different forms and a $50 fee...a financial hardship for many organized groups as well as more casual outings led by volunteers. Is there a letter writing campaign active among the paddling groups to support all efforts to 'get your paddle in the water'? |
