Good evening all
Thinking of doing a trip to Ishpatina in August and I was planning to use the Beauty Lake/Montreal R access until I saw that new map which indicated vehicle access to Gervais Landing? First I have heard of it. Can anyone fill me in on the road/parking/access to Scarecrow from this point?
BTW I may still opt for Beauty as I want to camp on Smoothwater.

This road is currently in use by industry so it is maintained. There is plenty of parking.
If you are only interested in Smoothwater, you will have no portaging if you put in at the Montreal River. |

Thanks for the info Brian. Helpful as always. It seems that the Beauty lake access would be better - as you say no portaging down to Smoothwater. The trip in to Ishpatina should be a nice 4-5 day trip. |

Any ideas about how busy the smoothwater/Scarecrow area will be in mid August? |
