Tonight I seen multiple fire along the point at ranger point..also they were to close together to be other campers(8 to 10) fires..There is a group of red canoes there but my question is why would these guides allow so many fires to be build in such dry conditions? |

On more than one occasion I've encountered a high school group from Deep River that starts multiple fires to cook meals, even at lunch stops! I've seen them on the Mattawa, in Algonquin, and in Temagami. If I'm not mistaken, this same group was responsible for a fire that got away at the north end of Obabika some years ago. DoubleBend

their fires were at 10:30 at night and it lit up the whole point. it was kinda scary but after a half hour they went out. the next morning I went over to make sure all fires were out and i counted 11 fire spots on the beach also a home made stucture build in the water with a pile of sticks half burned on it. |
