Hello! Can anyone offer information on the condition of Twinkle Lake Road? The Ottertooth map says it is suitable for any type of vehicle, except for the last 1.3 kilometers. I've driven the Goulard Road all the way to the gate in a Honda Fit - SLOWLY - but it was fine. Can anyone tell me how Twinkle Lake Road compares? I'd like to do a loop trip from Twinkle into Seagram, up to Blesucker, through Solace to Twin falls on the Sturgeon, down the Sturgeon to Pilgrim Triangle, and through Yorston Lake back to Twinkle. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

I posted this response on CCR, but will repost here for anyone planning on driving this road: I've just returned from a 4 week trip in that area, and according to locals, there is a major wash-out on the road to Twinkle Lake. The last report I heard was that the wash-out wasn't even passible with a 4x4 pick up. I didn't see the problem myself, as I was paddling through the area - not driving - but I did speak to a couple on ATVs that informed me of the problem. _________________ |

Thanks for that. Any idea who I might contact to inquire about current conditions? |

I just spoke to a local person who confirmed the wash out is on the Goulard crossover road that travels past Iron Lake turnoff north of Emerald Lake and travels west to Lower Goose Falls. The road that Ottertooth is recommending is accessed at the Bailey bridge crossing over the Manitou (Grassy) River, where the Verner hunt and fish camp is located. |
