Bear Den Camp is near Thieving Bear Lake, significantly east of where his car was found. If he was there, he probably would have drove.

Acouple of other spots to check: remote (skiing & hiking) cabins belonging to Smoothwater Outfitters. Not the right direction, I know, but if he didn't want to be found, a little misdirection....

There's a guy named Dimitri that had a yurt near the mouth of the Eagle River. I heard he may have moved camp near to Barmac Lake, or possibly a lake near the Aston Ridge (E side of the lake).
Also, I hear that Dimitri has Bear Island conections.

Has anyone asked Jeff (Heff) Gieler, the caretaker at Camp Wanapitei if he knows anything?

Ok, I didn't see this thread earlier, otherwise, I would've posted.

Also, check with Fred Blake, he has a trapline back in that area.

I know that people have checked with Alex Matthias, but another place to look might be up at Shishkong (sp?) Lake, a well known place for traditional vision quests. It may be possible to walk into there from the Bob Lake road (I don't know, personally, I'd go by canoe, but he doesn't have one).

Update: It's been a quiet day of waiting and wondering, spending time with family. In checking the map, Theiving Bear Lake is quite east of where Daniel's car was parked, but still worth checking.

Aaron and Tracy, did you come across anything on your trek today that would help our search?

dendrast: The areas you mention above have all been checked, I believe. We are in contact with Dmitri, Alex and Jeff. We pray Daniel is not walking near traplines (before this I didn't even know what they were), but that he is hunkered down somewhere safe. Good to have a few more places to check.

Knowing Dan's ideas about living out in Temagami .. I would say he wouldn't use any of cabins, camps etc.. relying on himself and making it his own personal journey. He was religious about drinking fresh water. Whereever he is now, he is close to a source of clear water.

Traplines are safe enough for humans. People don't use leg hold traps anymore, sometimes snares for small animals, otherwise coneybear traps (which are killers - but not something a person could get into, or figure out how to get out of).

Update: Thanks to all those who have put my mind at ease about trap lines. Once again, no news is good news. Ronin, we agree with you about this being Daniel's personal journey and his respect and appreciation for fresh water.

We would like to share a prayer by Don Wright posted on A Brand New Day! last Wednesday, just seeing it now, very comforting.

Heavenly Father
I pray for Daniels safe return.
I pray that someone will come forward with information
and I pray that you would bless each and every person who has expressed love and concern.
Great Spirit, would you bekon Daniel home and provide for him safe passage
we pray these things to the one with all knowledge and power
amen

Update: Daniel will be missing 4 weeks tomorrow. The OPP have exhausted all leads and suspended search efforts, unless new information comes forward.

Wishing and hoping and thinking and praying....

Update: NOW would definitely be a VERY good time for Daniel to return, we all need to know he's OK. Special thanks to those getting our message out.

Also, thanks to Linda Little Smith who is planning "Music 4 The Missing" tomorrow to raise awareness - her daughter has been missing for 1 year. See www.music4themissing.ca for details.

Update: No news, no signs of Daniel.

The "Music 4 The Missing" event was a great success, met many of the local people searching for their loved ones. Linda did a great job of raising awareness and musicians were amazing, uplifting.

Post from Friends of Temagami, Facebook,
Fri. Dec. 2nd:
I'm sure you have already probably checked this, but there is a cave near Shangri-La on the Lady Evelyn River (along the portages between Stonehenge & Katherine Lakes). With Hap helping out though, I'm sure that will have been checked already. I wish I could be more helpful.Friday at 12:07pm · (Laura Lemond, Friends of Temagami Facebook)

Update: Posters are being put up in Temagami and surrounding areas, thanks to many for your help. Daniel Cyr was back in Temagami with his search dog Hunter, but still no signs or sightings of our son.

Someone asked: Has the OPP checked with the trappers and prospectors who are in Temagami (apparently a trapper, just off Red Squirrel Rd just learned recently about Daniel missing). If they have a list, I'm sure they are checking it.

Someone suggested: Could he have gone walking north? This is a possibility, we should consider all options, we'll discuss further with the police.

Wondering: Is there such a thing as a missing person coordinator or strategist? There are so many possibilities in identifying the pieces for this puzzle, let alone putting it all together.

So, we continue to move forward, day by day, and pray for Daniel's safety.
