I am looking to paddle to Cross Lake accessing it from the end of the Central Lake Access. I am concerned about paddling across the large open bay with canoes. Would you suggest a water taxi or do you think this is passable?}}}}

The water taxi is pretty expensive. Expensive enough to turn me off. Something like $9 per mile Better off chartering a plane.

It is expensive. Do you think the passage from the access to Cross especially the first 3k is crazy in a caoe?

No. People paddle that route every day. If you are concerned about winds or waves, stay close to shore and take your time.

There's always the alternative and more sheltered trip south down the lake just to the east of High Rock. I've used that a few times.
