I am looking to paddle to Cross Lake accessing it from the end of the Central Lake Access. I am concerned about paddling across the large open bay with canoes. Would you suggest a water taxi or do you think this is passable?}}}} |

The water taxi is pretty expensive. Expensive enough to turn me off. Something like $9 per mile Better off chartering a plane. |

It is expensive. Do you think the passage from the access to Cross especially the first 3k is crazy in a caoe? |

No. People paddle that route every day. If you are concerned about winds or waves, stay close to shore and take your time. |

There's always the alternative and more sheltered trip south down the lake just to the east of High Rock. I've used that a few times. |
