I'm having fun looking at the new Temagami Adventure Planning Map (TAP map). (As an aside, if anyone in the North Bay area has picked up this map and, like me, wants to have it laminated, Photo Metro on Lakeshore can accomodate its large width, although I will trim a half inch off the sides first). I'm wondering if anyone might know why there is a 2200m portage all the way in to Kitt Lake from the top end of Bay Lake, along Kitt Creek. Would the creek not be navigable, saving distance on the portage? Perhaps soemone has done it in recent times and can provide some insight. Also... a mistake on the map legend perhaps??? I have noticed all hiking trails are rendered in solid brown lines but in the legend it shows them as broken brown lines...just thought I would mention it. |

Kitt Cr was indicated as un-navigable, small watershed - low flow. Thanks for pointing out the legend edit. |

Geez...sorry, meant to post that too...$40, plus HST I assume. Doesn't matter to me that it is more than the cost of the map...it is an investment worth protecting. Should have it back by end of day tomorrow (Fri) and will post on here how satisfied I am with the job they did. BTW, we met recently, sort of...I was the guy at your Nipissing U appearance who asked you about the recent and partial coup for protecting Wolf Lake re the province's announcement/reversal. Mark |
