Hello Everyone: Does anyone know if the old nastawgan from Rabbit to Upper Twin is passable? |

Don't think it's passable. If you check it out, let us know what you find. I wouldn't be surprised if an experienced nastawgan hunter could find evidence at either end, but I doubt there'd be anything in the middle. |

My 10 yr old daughter and were through there Aug 2011 it was not an easy portage but it certainly was find able Rabbit to upper twin using Laval. Have been up to Black using the other route trees down but other wise was findable. |

Hey gone_paddling, where exactly is Laval Lake? Do you mean Lebel Lake, which is between Reuben and Lower Twin? I think what SunDog was referring to is a long portage from Rabbit directly to Upper Twin. Could be wrong. That portage starts at or near where the Lowell Lake Road hits Rabbit Lake and hits the NE corner of Upper Twin. Last time I was travelled Rabbit-Reuben-Lebel-Lower Twin the portages were easy to find, but a bit overgrown. That was about 2007. |

Yes the lake may be called Lebel, for years it had no real name just the pond on the way to Lowertwin. I am not familiar with any long portage from Rabbit direct to Uppertwin. We had no trouble finding the route. The sad part of the whole route was the motor boats, cottages complete with mowed lawns.Just reminds you that you are not really in wilderness. |

The Breeze Lake route is a more rugged, less civilized alternative between Reuben and Upper Twin. http://www.ottertooth.com/Temagami/News/newsbriefs -065.htm#ma12 |
