Hi - we are planning a trip on the Sturgeon River Aug 20 - 24. We are flying in and out with Lakeland and wanted to try and find the portion of the Sturgeon that has the best (or any?) whitewater - do you have any suggestions???

Have most of your books and think they are great!

Whitewater on the Sturgeon? There are better whitewater rivers and better reasons to do the Sturgeon. The earlier in the season the better to get the water volume as the Sturgeon is not a large river. Unless the water is high, there is little that is white and mostly rock dodgers. Actually there is bigger water below Grassy River (Wawiaskashi), but the river down there is not pristine, meanders and is sandy. The pristine section, and it does have small rapids, is between Paul Lake and Pilgrim Creek. Hope this helps.
