Hi, I'm going to be doing a trip in a couple of weeks starting at Florence Lake. I am trying to decide where to come out near Temagami Village (or Temagami north). I want to avoid the central/eastern parts of Lake Temagami (too busy, been there already). Comments on the two alternatives below would be appreciated. 1) Red Squirrel-Lenore-Jackpine-Kanichee 2) Red Squirrel-Anima Nipissing-Breeches-Mountain-Thieving Bear-Net-Kanichee I understand that in option (1) the Jackpine-Kanichee section is slow and rocky with numerous small portages. I don't have any info about option (2). Thanks |

Having done both, the Thieving Bear route is easier portage-wise and more interesting country. Portages are better used. I think you may have made a mistake in option 2. You shouldn't be going into Kanichee Lake, but taking out at Net Lake. |
