I would like to thank the YMCA group that helped me and my family with our gear at the last portage out of Iceland. Last Friday in the rain I severely sprained my anchle on a wet rock on the portage from Driftwood to Iceland.
I could hardly walk let alone carry a pack. This group kindly carried our canoe and gear over the small portage which was greatly appreciated.
The fun part was putting the canoe on the roof of the van once we paddled back to the access road!
Anyway it was a great trip overall and my kids (5 & 7) are asking when we can go back!
