Hello everyone, it's my first post. Does anyone know if you can launch a boat in McLean lake from Red Squirrel Road. If so can you motor up to Anima Nippissing Lake. |

If you want to go to Anima Nip..why wouldn't you just launch in it at the access off of Hwy #11 ? |

Thanks for the posts guys. The thing is that I am planning an early spring trip in 2008 with a few friends. I want to use one of the campsites at the south end of Anima Nippissing Lake as a starting point for several day canoeing trips. If we bring a boat it gives us an out for bad weather. I would much rather go up Mclean Lake paddling than though Anima Nippissing Lake because of the unknown weather conditions. Thanks Hoof, |

There is a campsite at that location and it is usually occupied starting from about early May and on into early September. There is no official boat launch there. |

Launching at McLean would depend on the size of your boat and how much enjoyment you would get out of dragging it up and down what is perhaps a 35 degree grade. I'll try and attach a couple of pictures to clarify. . Like Ed said the site is very busy all spring and summer. |

Thanks guys that is exactly what I needed. Is the campsite you're talking about right on Red Squirrel Road. I was thinking of camping at one of the sites at the south end of Anima Nippissing Lake. This web page makes it so much easier to plan a camping trip. |

The campsite is just a few feet off the road on a bald rock |
