Hi. I run a site called Tire-Free Rivers, where I hope to acknowledge individuals who contribute to the restoration of their local rivers and lakes by removing a tire or tires.

This is a volunteer non-profit initiative. Unfortunately, I have not been able to recruit many members. But the few I have recruited have been responsible for pulling nearly 150 tires out of the waterways in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and I expect many more will be extracted before these rivers (Keswick, Nashwaak, Saint John, Nashwaaksis, and Regiment Creek) can be considered tire-free.

Please visit me at and see if you can contribute a tire or two from your home stream. It can actually be fun.

It will get you out in your boat. And removing a tire will instill in you a great pride in knowing you are giving something back to your home river.
