Off to Alaska soon on the first cruise ship North. Canoebear Good buddy...will look for " tha untamable side of 'tis ' Spirit in tha Wild '! " Mountain Lions in Alaska By Riley Woodford Nocturnal visitor: Mountain lions range into Northern British Columbia, and there's evidence the cats sometimes make forays into Alaska. This photo was taken by a remotely triggered camera system just west of Yellowstone National Park in Southwestern Montana. Mountain lions sighting are reported every year in Alaska, but the cats are so rare in the state that accounts often take on the mythical quality of Bigfoot sightings. Reports have come from as far north and west as the Kenai Peninsula and the Palmer area, but the most credible accounts come from Southeast Alaska, which is adjacent to known populations in neighboring British Columbia. "We get sporadic reports, maybe two or three a year," said state wildlife biologist Rich Lowell of Petersburg. "Usually there's one report, then word gets out and there's a rash of sightings that are not substantiated. It's almost like sasquatch." Alaska has always been considered to be outside the lions' range, but with mountain lion populations increasing in many western states and Canada, that could change. In the Lower 48, mountain lions are dispersing into Nebraska, the Dakotas, and Minnesota from neighboring states. The cats are rare in northern British Columbia, but biologists estimate there are about 3,500 mountain lions in Southern B.C. - and Vancouver Island has one of the highest densities of mountain lions in the world. Although it's unlikely a breeding population is established in Alaska, there's evidence the cats are making forays into the state. In December 1998 a wolf trapper reportedly snared a mountain lion on South Kupreanof Island, and in November 1989 a mountain lion was shot near Wrangell. These are the only two documented accounts of mountain lions killed in Alaska. State wildlife biologist Neil Barten of Juneau said there was good evidence that a mountain lion was active in the Snetttisham area south of Juneau in the summer of 2000, and a state trooper reported watching a mountain lion in Skagway in 2002. There have been a handful of credible sightings in the Meyers Chuck area of the Cleveland Peninsula in recent years, said Boyd Porter, the state game biologist in Ketchikan. "The Cleveland is a pretty wild, unpopulated area between Wrangell and Ketchikan," Porter said. "They could easily come down through the Unuk River drainage from Canada. Populations in British Columbia and elsewhere are increasing, and consequently you are more likely than ever to see dispersal, and maybe see them where we haven't ever seen them before." Larry Lewis, with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in Soldotna, said there have been occasional sightings reported in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, but nothing in recent years and nothing that has been confirmed to his knowledge. A spate of lion sightings in the mid-'90s around Cooper Landing turned out to be a big yellow dog - and biologists have found that dogs are probably the culprits in other sightings as well. Often lion sightings turn out to be lynx - for good reason. Lynx are notorious travelers and can be found throughout Alaska. They are better adapted for cold weather, with short-tails, heavy fur coats, ear tufts and snowshoe-like paws. In the winter of 2001 a Palmer resident reported a mountain lion was eating his domestic rabbits. The area biologist collected hair samples, and DNA analysis revealed the cat was a lynx. Accidental catch: A Petersburg trapper caught this mountain lion in a wolf snare on Kupreanof Island in December 1998. The male cat weighed about 160 pounds and measured seven and a half feet long. Also known as cougars, mountain lions average 100 to 150 pounds and are three to five times bigger than lynx. Bobcats, the lynx' small cousin, barely range north of the U.S.-Canadian border. Ed Crain served as the Petersburg area biologist in the 1990s. He looked into the possibility that the cougar killed in Wrangell could've been an escaped or released pet. It's a plausible scenario, as about 12,000 mountain lions, tigers and other large cats are kept as exotic pets in the U.S. DNA tests, however, indicated the cougar probably came from wild stock. Crain, who still lives in Petersburg, said it's not surprising that a cougar would make its way down the Stikine River from established populations in British Columbia. He said fishers - housecat-size cousins to the mink - have recently shown up in the Juneau area, which was previously considered to be outside their range. Moose have also been moving into new areas of Central Southeast and are increasing in number. "There are mule deer and elk in the (Upper Stikine), and I can see mountain lions moving down searching for deer, one at a time drifting in, then mating," Crain said. "In another 50 years - it's just speculation, but I could see a breeding population establish in Southeast Alaska." Mountain lions are incredibly elusive, said trapper and retired wildlife biologist Steve Peterson of Juneau, and in the dense vegetation of Southeast Alaska, it would be tough to spot them. "Wolves advertise their presence, but cats aren't like that, they're subtle in the ways they do advertise," Peterson said. "They're loners, they're quiet animals and you don't really know they're around." Lowell, the Petersburg biologist, said trappers and hunters have contacted him wanting to know if they could harvest a mountain if they did see one. The answer is no, there is no season for the animals in Alaska. The two cougars that were killed were turned over to the state. Lowell has heard concerns about the danger posed by cougars. Alaskans should not be worried about cougar attacks, he said. Pet dogs in America kill more people each year (about 16) than cougars have killed in the past century. Dogs bite 4.5 million people annually, sending 800,000 people to seek medical treatment. Despite a few high-profile attacks in recent years, the cats pose little real threat to people. "150 lb. Cougar shot dead in Chicago alley today" Wild Cougar spotted in alley near Cubs Park & gunned down by "Chicago's finest", who shot 1st, then ask questions later. They're know kind, pursues a wide variety of prey. Authorities figure that 8' Wild Cat wandered down from Wisconsin Back Woods. Next to tha Black Bear, 'tis be tha largest most poweriful Canadian predator. Tha Cougar has tha greatest natural distribution of any mammal in tha western hemisphere, except fer man. Most wildlife agencies rely on physical evidence such as carcasses , tracks, scat, & photos fer real evidence to document tha presence of Cougar. Agencies don't wanna go thru all tha red tape court hassel/or put tha $ funden fer wildlife [endangered act], as well as, make habitat fer. So ther always in deniel, keepen stalk-&-ambush predators in tha dark. Take Cat out of tha equation, so not to factor-in. Out-of-sight, out-of-mind! Last year another Cougar 'twas shot bout 50 miles away from 'tis alley Cat. Shot & killed on Savage Road off Route 173 in IL. wild NE by an animal control unit. Kept it hushed-up. I promised, not to tell! Tha "run & gun-down" may subdue Cougar crush fer a while, but tha "Spirit of tha Wild" conquers fer-ever, Heya!

"Tha Journey" Major John Wesly Powel embarked on a 99 day, 1000-mile exploration journey thru tha uncharted Grand Canyon & changed tha wild west fer-ever. His epic Colorado River wooden boat voyage down into dangerous roaren rapids & toweren cataracts. Many before him, tried & died. 'Twas a "1 armed" American Civil War Veteran who mapped tha Mighty Colorado. 'Tis hero had a hard shell fer sur. He extended himself on forward angled up-wards & headed into tha horizon. 'Tis here minimised tha risk of be-en buried much too soon, by large masten waves. Speaken of hard shells; Tha Turle is back from Wild Alaska. Hope he enlightenment us with entailments of tha voyage. While wer on tha subject of turtles, ther be a "Bowsprit Tortoise" that 'tis endemic to Namibia South Africa encompassen tha coast to tha Orange River. 'Tis Tortoise's region be an arid desert-like habitat fer sur, sandy, dry, rocky with much crawlen spiders slithen snakes & such. Bad enough me & Renee, out of tha wilderness now, be still diggen-out wood ticks from deep with-in. Any-way, these Tortoises be much territorial & can also be fast walkers too. They're vulnerable in environments of high damp mosture + humidity. Don't no much bout sailen vessels variables. But I no well that tha weather-effect, 'tis 1 variable that will determine if we go on our hike/or not. Got close-up good glimpse of Big Black Bear in high speed motion 1st hour into hike tailen timberwolves. Not my turn to go next, still hav life, Heya bowsprit!

"Vicious-Circle" What go's round, come's roundbout, sooner/or later. Be sum-what of a circular-proof, in tha end. A boomerang effect, at times goes a bit contrary to expectations, which in-fact, results in an disadvantage/or harm to tha person given that "shoot & kill" order. Mayor Richard M. Daley, Mayor of Chicago, gave that order in May of 2008 to kill cougar on site, no questions asked. Wood-of, shood-of, cood-of darted large Tom, cornered & scared in a Chicago alley, but cops used live ammo instead to dispatch wild cat. Now, questionable general order to police to shoot, given by Mayor, 'tis comen back to haunt him. Ghost cat admist. 'Tis here action caused a re-action. Daley has a vacation home on lake in Grand Beach Michigan, therbouts "Cougar Country". Sum U.P. North took 'tis trajedy real personel. Been senden Mayor threaten letters & tried to burn down vacation home. Got Mayor all wild-eyed, cornered & now scared. Don't get me wrong. Mayor Daley is a good-guy, fer sur. He just did an unsavory act. Can't bring cat back. It's much tooo late. Not nice to fool with "Mom's Nature". I hope no harm comes to Mayor of Chicago. He's got to deal with a lot of low lifes in tha woods, I mean tha hoods. He's irreplacable! To call tha attention of another, to bring back, to caution/or point-out 'tis a forewarnen. If ther be a next time, 'tis here Mayor will fer sur, think twice before he gives orders to pull tha triger, I'm sur! To give signs; warnen of: Dark skies threaten rain. When it is evenen, ye say, It will be fair weather: fer tha sky 'tis blood red. & in tha morn,It will be foul weather today: fer tha sky be red & lowren. Loom of rain now threatens. Fer tha fog comes on tha cougars paws. Fer 'tis lone Tom sits looken over Chicago's harbor & city on silent haunches an then, in tha end, will move-on. They come-then they go, but can they be replaced, hall I don't no. I speak fer tha wildlife, fer 'tis here Tom cat gots my tongue. Be a vicious cycle, Heya! |

Glacier Bay...awesome place!!! 06 May 2008, Glacier Bay. May 8th, 2008 by Captain Albert The morning was bright and clear and it looked like a great day for glacier viewing. We sailed into the bay around 06.30 to be off Bartlett Cove at 07.00 hrs. This is the ranger station and the Rangers come out with their boat and board the ship via the pilot ladder. Apart from two Rangers we also had two members of the local Indian tribe and a bird watcher coming on board. For the rest they loaded a whole pile of luggage on board, consisting of books, DVD’s and other items for sale to the guests. The same boat comes back at 16.00 hrs, to collect the Rangers when we return to the mouth of the Bay. Even before heading up the bay, I saw that this was going to be a very special day. The snow reached all the way down to the water line. They have had a very severe winter in Alaska with a lot more snow than normal and that snow was still there. I have now been coming to Alaska to 26 years and have seen a lot of beautiful days but never that the snow was still covering everything all the way down to the tide water line. It looked magnificent. With the Rangers safely on board we headed up the bay to cover a distance of about 50 miles to get to the glaciers. The first part went rather slow as we had about five miles of current going against us in the narrow passage abeam of Strawberry Island, but when the bay widened we made good speed. The Veendam was the first ship of the season to go up to Glacier Bay and thus also for the Rangers who were very eager to see what had changed during the winter months. Overview of Glacier Bay. Courtesy -from somewhere on the Web- The Rangers provide a full program in Glacier Bay and all regular ships activities are suspended during that period. It starts upon boarding with a meet and greet with the captain when the program for the day is discussed as the Ranger bridge narration is run in sync with my schedule of going up and down the bay. For the guests it starts with a “Meet the Ranger” chat in the crows nest which is also their home base for selling merchandise and answering guest’s questions. During the day we have one ranger on the bridge for the narration and one in the ship for Q&A. While we are sailing up the bay, there is a presentation by the members of Huna tribe about how their ancestors lived in and near Glacier Bay and there is a get together with the children on board as part of the Club Hal program. The narration on the outside decks starts around 09.30 when the ship reaches the upper bay, near Russell Island. Quite often we see mountain goats here and there are always the chance of bears. Here we start to slow the ship down as the first bits of floating ice tend to show up. These pieces of ice, really too small to be called icebergs, come down from the Glaciers and melt while floating down the bay. Near Russell Island most of it is melted away. Also this is where the bay splits into two parts, Tarr Inlet and John Hopkins Inlet. We go to the right first to visit Tarr inlet with the Marjorie and Grand Pacific Glacier. We floated in front of Majorie Glacier for an hour and saw indeed some calving. From there we moved to the entrance of John Hopkins inlet. We can not go inside the bay as the pupping season for the seals going on but then John Hopkins glacier is best view from a distance anyway as it climbs all the way up to the Fairweather mountain range. The glacial ice was completely covered with snow and it looked spectacular. From there we did a sail by, by Lamplough glacier which is a blue ice glacier and then it was time for the Ranger lecture in the main lounge. Before the guests knew, it was 4 pm. and time to say good bye to Glacier Bay. To top things off we had porpoises and Whales playing around the ship near the entrance. As said, it was a magnificent day. John Hopkins Glacier, covered by snow. Courtesy 3rd officer Symen van der Veen Tomorrow we are in our last port of call, Ketchikan. Final stop to please the shoppers. We are again the only cruise ship in port, so I will park the Veendam straight across from the visitor centre. It is supposed to be dry and that is very special for Ketchikan where it rains normally 332 days out of the year. The first Bridge team to enter Glacierbay in 2008. Courtesy Ships Photographer. "Possible COUGAR Sighten in Stickney IL." Hate to beat-UP tha brush agin, annoyen as it be-en but.......... 'TWAS all over tha news today, happened on Easter Sunday. Mountain lions gradually extenden ther range to tha Wilds of tha NE followen cricks & riverbeds. They hav reached Missouri, Michigan, as well as, now, enteren tha wilds of NE IL., roundbout tha Chicago land area. 'Tis anticipated that Cougars wood expand Ther range over tha eastern + southern part of tha rest of tha U.S.in sum years to come. Ther still be on-go-en current reports of tha existance of a Long Tail Wild Cats on tha prowl in New Brunswick, Quebec, & no 1st hand, that 'tis here Ghost Cat be liven, surviven, as well as, enduren "Into Tha Wilds" of Onario's pristine NE. They hunt alone & ambush Ther prey, often from behind. Adult mature Toms can reach 9' feet + weigh-in round 200 + lbs. & life spand in tha wilderness NE wood-be, sum 10 years/or so. And I think in 'tis here vast Northeastern Wilderness wher ther be much ruggedness of uncut timber & clear deep waters, that ther wood-be plenty of room fer me & that ther Wild Savage Cougar. "Wolfen" Cougars interact with wolves & coyotes often competen fer limited prey. Cougars & coyotes at times will get ambushed by tha resident wolf pack. Timber wolves, given tha oppurtunity, will kill both, seen-on-site. Mountain lions compete fer prey, while that wild-eyed coyote has tha audacity of rudeness to swindle a large portion of tha big cat/or big pack dogs hard-earned-kills away. Tha timber wolves be 1 with tha wilderness. Wilderness be more than old growth uncut trees. 'Tis also natures wildlife population dwellen within "Wild America's" woodland habitat. Many Cherokee Tribes way-of-thinken, 'tis that any weapon that be used to kill a member of wolf clan pack had to be cleansed by Medicine Man before it wood work again. Idahoan's has doomed tha wolf not fer what it 'tis, but fer what they have deliberately & unmistakenly precieved, tha "Big Bad Wolf" to be. Timber wolves be deep at risk, in big time danger + trouble. Need every-1's help here! As of Semptember 1st of 2009 tha great state of Idaho wood host tha greatest wolf massacre since 1930. As bad as Wounded Knee. Extinguishen-out tha "Call of tha Wild". Bringen silence at night by killen tha "Song of tha North". With as many as 70 wolfer lever action Winchester gun toten army of men, with ther cross hairs of iron sights aimed to shoot to kill on site, each & every Idaho existen wolf. 70 to 1, be tha odds of each firen squad, wher, 1000 wolves used to run wild & free, be runnen fer dear life soon. Them ther Idahoan officials surmise that they will issue up to 70,000 permits to hunt down wolves in cold blood. In-state wolf kill bounties will be rolled-back to just $11.75 apiece. If 1 waits till midnite, he might catch tha blue light howlen special. Takes an savage animal to kill unjustly a brother in tha wilds. Cougars & coyotes wood hav less worries bout damn wolves horden + wolfen all food down. But both survivors better keep an eye out fer tha aftermath, fer once tha wolf-be-gone, them shooters be come gunnen fer U's-2. Hope wolf hide hunters disregard/or rejected heed of O'L Cherokee Medicine Man belief. Maybe next time they shoot to kill may end-up as misfire/or back firen blow back/or even mistaken, 1 of ther own, a sheep in wolf's clothes. In tha 1850's most Americans considered tha "Idaho Potato" as food fer animals rather than fer humans. As tha middle of tha 19th century tha [Farmers Manual] recommended that "Idaho Potatoes" be grown near tha hog pens as a convenience towards feeden them ther dirty hogs. Lets leave tha potato mash to tha pig hogs of them ther Idahoans & boycott buyen any "Idaho Potatoe" brand product/or even shut tourism down out West in that state until the they kill tha wolf hunt. If them the brave potato-eaten hunters looken fer good blood trail, I no of a MMA Gym I'll send them to wher ther "Will Be Blood" & wher 'tis woLf pack clan will fight back taken all commers-on, drawen ther Idahoan blood! 'Tis tha act of a coward to wish & look fer death, woLfwalken, Heya! |

"Boomerang" Grey timber wolf's howl out-loud, a sound cry as old as tha woodlands. If 1 howls at tha wolves, they will howl with U. If U don't talk to them, U'll never no, and what U don't no, U'll fear & what 1 coward fears, 1 shoots with eyes shut at close range, a will to destroy it's unfound mystery. In tha beginnen, tha dog 'twas put on with-in tha small mountains & tha wolf beside tha camp fire. Then tha snows of winter came & tha dog woodn't stand tha bitter raw bitten cold, so he ventured down into tha encampment & rudely took wolfs place near tha fire. No room fer 2, tha wolf made tracks to head into tha mountain passes wher he got a strong footen ther to run wildly free amomgst old timbers. Intent-on growen its pack clan size larger wanted to branch-out to explore on ther own. Sum of tha wolves 1 day came off tha mountain to see what 'twas round tha foothills & brought down & ate 1 of camp members controled tame breed. Tha men gathered together fer big bad wolf hunt, a free-fer-all in tha predator zone insued, to shot all wolves seen on site. Tha best revenge 'tis in massive #'s success. Sole motivation was a revenge against a public endangered list policy, wolven into tha wilderness. Remember that pack strength of survival lies in ther Superior #s. Tha wolfer hide hunters tracked tha wolves down & at dusk, ambushed tha small pack on ther inline march back to ther hilly dug-in den. When tha wolves felt tha heaviness ache of a hot bullet inside ther stomachs & chests, ther heads hit tha blood soaked ground & ther cryen in tha dark, came to an end, never to be heard again. A chance to retaliate/or get sum satisfaction as by a return court case match, after what 'twas, a big defeat. A vindictive spirit, to take-up veneance, to avenge, to have our ther Old West way back again. To win no matter tha cost. 'Twas now pay back time, so like-it/or not, U deal with-it & bite tha bullet! Revenge in revelry, 'twas bitter sweet. Once tha rest of tha pack found out, tha brothers of tha wolves came out of tha mountains, 1 out of tha East, 1 out of tha North, both now headed-out To Go West. Tha brother wolves took such revenge that even today, those people who remembered wer too much afraid to ever hurt/or bring harm to another wolf brother again. Wolf be a "Powerful Spirit of tha Forest Woods". Tha Cherokee woodn't ever kill a wolf, fer They believe that, tha wolf's siblens wood enact a terrible revenge on to those who perpetrated mass murderers fer wolf sins. May indeed bring bout "Rainbow Warrior" to avenge? Only Natives from Down-Under no about principle of tha Boomerang-effect, like a ricochets bullet that comes back at ya, unexpectively. Wood end-up be-en a disadvantage in harmen wolf shooter with his own fired bullet. Finden its beginnen source, by back-tracken, thats now on tha rebound to it's target gun smoke origin. Infact tha return fer 1's bad deed, 'tis seldom immediate. Ther may be a long delay of 1's bad actions & tha rebounden of backlask consequances. People sick with evil minds hav 2 things to worry bout, die-en + go-en to hall. Once ther down-ther they'll hav ther hands full with tha others that they had in tha past previously, done-in. A wolf need never revenge itself, fer tha body remains of his wolfer enemy gunmen, sooner/or later will be brought back to lay at his own door. Less tha 4% of original wolf #s R left. Less than 4% of original wolf range is left. No need to extract wolves from Idaho because sum be migraten to Oregon & moven-on. Timber wolves hunt-out, tha weak, tha sick, tha injured, tha old + at times tha very young in letten tha strong survive. Keeps tha forest clean, clear-cut-back of tha sick-diseased from spreaden. Insuren new healthy strong prey breeden blood to run agaist tha wind. Wolves left-overs from kills feed other animals such as buzzards, possums, foxes, coyotes, Bald Eagles, as well as Bears, so that they won't starve to death in harsh times = nothen goes to waste. Like-it/or not, timber wolves R worth more $ alive than hangen round dead. Idaho Tourism will befall, I'm sur of that. Hope tha ties tha wolf has with American Native Tribes from tha beginnen 'tis still on-go-en. Wolf trails comes from tha past, wanders into tha present & leads into tha future of hikers & canoe paddlers. When retaliation/or reprisal takes tha wolf out of tha woods & U take summore of tha wild out of tha wilderness, then whats left, summore retribution Heya? |

Great post. Wolves are definetely my spirit animal. I remember about 10 years ago in the mountains behind Thistle Lake as I reached the top of a tree stand about 30 meters up hearing a slight noise in the swamp below. First I saw a rabbit scamper by and then two large wolves, one large grey one and then an amazing black beauty. They remained in my eyesight only a few seconds but have remained frozen in my mind since that day. Incredibly beautiful. I feel blessed to have experienced the moment. Bigwolf |

"Fur of tha Wolf" 'Tis a fierce cruel politcian who be an attacker by try-en to keep tha timber wolf from his door. He be a real fine piece of art work, full of buffalo chips up to his knees. 'Tis here potato state governor, 'tis here (bruce otter) guy, hides with a malicious intent under a benign manner to be tha 1st in his neighborhood block, 1st in line, to draw Wolf's Blood on Sacred Ground. Be a wanna-be-huntsmen, totten round his 444 cal. Marlin Mauler idahoan western lever action iron sight rifle in case he gets a chance to kill to death, sum of them ther unexpected Pack Wolves runnen wild & free. A mans man, a Wolf in sheeps clothen. "Tis here opportunistic, claimen to be an (otter sort), be no kin of me/or mine. Until an advantage can be seized, he's gonna do-away with all them ther idaho Rocky Mountain Wolves. Wow, I'm even starten to howl like him. Can't wait till next election when 'tis guy is bagged, tagged & head mounted in sum-1's trophy case to throw darts at. If tha Timber Wolf is to survive, than wolf haters like (bruce otter), they must be out#ed. They must be out-howled, out-resourced + out-voted & don't buy any more idahoan potatoes! Brrr brucine(bruce) has a narrow & bias western attitude. Infact, tha only wolfer animal here be tha 1 that habitually preys upon, prime mature animals, that wer put on "Mum's Earth" to do what Ther suppose to do, raise + feed ther young. Boastful blunderen (bruce) doesn't hav tha likeness of tha Grey Wolf at all, he doesn't eat all that he executes. Fer Pack Wolves that keep well fed by Ther feet, bring down prey that be weak/or ill. Fer tha Wolf is also an opportunistic & 'tis inevitable that tha disadvantaged that be tha easiest to catch-up-to + ground. Lewis & Clark Expedition wrote that Wolves took advantage of wear members out of tha buffalo herds. Prairie Wolves followed tha buff duren dusk's sundownen & fed on those that wer killed due to accidents/or those that wer too pore/or fat to keep-up with tha ganges. A Bison herd moves as fast as its slowest member, so tha Wolves did tha whole herd a good trade. Native Indians call wild savage animals, tha "children of tha earth". Tha Wolf, like me, they call Him "Big Mouth", 1 who howls at night, out-loud. Legends say that Wolf sends spirit messages to tha world beyond. Maybe bring tidens down to strip braggen-1 of his (otter) last name. Non-worthy to be fitted with such a title. I'm infavor of sum hunting as long as tha beast #'s 'tis overwelmen. 'Tis be, fer sur, an "over-kill"! I luv guns as much as tha next guy. I hav an arsenol at home that wood be able to arm every-1 on 'tis her forum twice-over & be-en sur shot, sharp shooter too, but I don't kill. I'd rather shootem multiple times with my SLR camera & come back agin next year & shootem all over agin. I met 'tis here white tundra She Wolf 8 Autumn Falls ago and when I approached her She showed me her big white teeth & wanted sum of me. Fer 5 years I went back campen at that same spot 2 weeks at a time. I finally befriended Her & She walked along side me. When me & Renee wood drive away on loggen roads tha lone wolf wood follow me fer miles on end. I had to get out of my truck to chase Her away. She wood lure tha resident Pack in at night to keep tabs on us as they howled. Me & Her wer connected & bonded. Too many Black Bears bout chased all tha wolves, all away, in time. Tha last 2 years I howled & howled & none echoed back to me. Shes & tha pack that finally took Her in R all gone fer good now & so R tha night songs. I don't no what happen to Her, but when She left that area, She took sum of me with Her. She broke my heart. Her name was dubbed "Skylar". I should hav shot Her cause Her be-en gone fer good, killed me. Hey gloat swaggerer, 'tisn't right to glory-over Wolves about to be slain. Watch out fer tha were-woLf! Cry Wolf, thats right! Red Rover, Red Rover send that piece of buff chip over, woLfwaLken, Heya! |

"Skylar" Continue, to return, down tha unknown path. Fer tha White Wolf Spirit has howled to me to run with her. Runnen on snowshoes into tha NE Superior Winds, so wild, so free, be tha Wolf within me. 'Tis unmuzzled Spirit so savage, so untamed, so unmanageable. I'm still learnen tha ways, tha paths, on how to woLfwaLk. Even with tha "Hunger Moon" hoveren overhead, Her path be hard to track-down & sum times be camouflaged/or covered-up under a fresh blanket of deep cold snows. But I no, She's ther in tha snowy mist, lopen along, out of sight, but ther, beside me. Shadowen White She Wolf, keepen her distance, be out of reach, under tha lamp of tha Full Moon. 1 can't overlook tha Spirit Howl of Her utterance disturben tha night stillness. A well trodden Wolf Path, wanderen wher it leads-off tooo, preservation/or extermination? Facen tha Wolf, 1 wood see, what White-faced, Pale Path, 'tis all about. We no, me & tha Beaver, that She Wolf, be out ther, sum wher, awaiten ther, fer me. She be a White Light Spirit that will sweep 1 into tha sky. Forum 'tis intact once agin, fer "Turtle's" segment composition be back in place, Heya! |

"Disappearen Wildlife" "Nez Perce Tribe" managed tha Canadian Wolves that wer passed-over to Idahoan Natives & then set free fer save-keepen. Idaho's high country 'tis a rugged remote vast roadless track sum wher in tha center of tha state wher packs wood grow large in #'s, healthy, overwhelmen + strong. Predators trim tha environment of weaker hoof prey stock & become formed, adapted, as well as, fortified/or restored, all by it. They hunt down ther prey animals & affect wher + how they live. Tha obtainable accessible & wariness of ther prey shapes & molds all tha predators to be deliberate + precise, in order to survive. Old gunslingen elk huntsmen be cry-en that herds be down in #'s. They wer allowed in tha past, to kill more Black Bears & mountain lions. Herd #'s sill fell short of expectation, so those western congressmen backed by powerful livestock ranchers & Tom Horn Stock Deputies, thru-out tha region waged war on, so tooo "Blame It All, On Tha Wolves". Anti-woLf people with power to control make tha woLf much more deadly/or savage than He really is. Tha woLf eyes show what 'tis worthy of regard. His eyes tend to be of a Spiritual Nature. By eye contact & by tha howl, which be part of tha wilderness, enables tha woLf to get It's unerren point of tolerant awareness grasped. Once 1 has got UP enough nerve to pet It's fur, now no's, what a beautiful creature it be. To be in contact with tha wild, they come together & meet, haven sum renewed Bearen-on It. Todays tha day that tha Idaho Court will decide tha woLf's fate. Fer those who care, say a woLf's prayer, Heya!
