Solitude,
Being back with our ancestors.
Being with the wildness,
Being with the noisiness of nature and
the beauty of Mother Earth and her children.
The call of the Loon, and other birds, the call wolf, the sound of the wind, the noise of the water, the feeling of Freedom, the crackle of the fire, the solitude, the music that mother earth brings us when we listen.
The time I have to think and look at my past and contiplate the future.
The excitment I feel every morning of the upcoming day of new discovery for me.
The release of the tension from my everyday life.
The release of stress and tesion from job and everyday responsibility.
The aloneness with nature.

I just finished 10 stories about my major canoeing days and trips and was even surprised myself to discover it was the people I tripped with and our sharing that was at the heart of all my Voyageur journeys.
