"Sign Of Spring"

Lewis & Clark, Core Of Discovery Journals
mentioned Tha American Robin be-en an
early-mornen songbird. They observed &
took note that woodland bird ate meat &
fruit vegetable matter.
'Tis reddish breasted bird was
mistakenly called a Robin by early
settlers, but be much closely related
to tha blackbirds than Robins.
A survivor fer sur!
Robin feeds on insects, spiders, worms &
fruit seeds. Its enemies R owls + racoons.

Tha Robin & Tha Explores Expedition wer
alike 1 another in many ways.
They both moved from 1 region & settled
in another.
Both similar, in that they set-off to
initiate a leap to grow & appear suddenly
out of no-wher. They both =/or like, cause they
wer tha 1st to do it, to take an early trip.
Both originated goals of
dicovery, to seed, by bounden
up-wards + fore-words to-wards
tha most important/or deepest core openen.
Robin means flambright.
All close in bringen into
be-en of fame & glory.
May-be they're both tha same!

See-en a Robin in yer dream
preceives a new beginnen &
a time fer growth.
'Tis "Rust Breasted Robin"
be a symbol to get-go-en/or
set-off to explore-out tha
wilds of waters & mountain woods,
be a novel start, Heya!

Hey canoebear...I dreamed I was flying over water! the other night!!

Thought it was cuz I flushed too many water hydrants on my new job that day before the night.

Maybe there is a bit of the robin in the turtle in some mystical way!

"Hush of Early Dawn"

Canoen down lazy river/or crossen a quiet lake,
be a good chance of happenen-up on, hard to spot,
Painted Turtle, found basken in tha sun.
'Tis hardy amphibian, haven no such keel,
depends on It's luv of It's water-color world.
Perfers mudded-up shallow water to prod bout in,
but as of late may be hibernaten to withdrawn in streams/or lake bottoms, deep in sum isolated mud botton, secluded in tha quietude of an absence of a sound state.
At 1 time, often wandered over-land carry-en
It's world on It's back in search of untouched rushen wild river waters to be 1st 1 ever,
to move round & bout in.
I respect It's soundlessness of "Golden Silence"
from time to time, but tha absence of speech,
turn-over to absolute shy quiet may sketch a drawen of brackish water conditions experienced.
Tha NE Wilds be filled with much color when Turtle
decides to surface to show-off It's dark brown, red + yellow paint, Heya!

"Whoo's...Awake?...Me...Too!"

Dusk before last, wife & I paddled out to
"Sacred Place Sandbar", in tha dead center of
big wind water chain, before night fall.
Sandbar diverce vegetation mix be point of concentration fer many small animals & haven shelter fer a variety of feathered birds.
Sum of tha native dwellers that call "'Tis Place"
home, be beavers, muskrats, coons, stray amphibious water-bound deers, Red-Wing Blackbirds,
gulls, many ducks, geese, swans, white egrets,
Blue Herons, sand hill cranes & at times
Red-Tails.
Canoen silently round & bout 'tis here out-of-way refuge, snuck-up on prowlen large feathered Tiger
Horned Owl pacen along remote islands waters-edge.
WOW! What big yellow eyes, piercen kife talons & beak of wrath She had. An Awesum sight!
She seemed to be up-to-no-good as we paddled about, as quiet as a mouse.
We quiet-up on Her & surprised tha liven hall out
of Her. As She took to tha air swiftly, in hurried haste, to get away & we heard nothen.
Air-borne, while passen thru tha warm air, on Her 5' wings , to distance Herself far from us,
'twas a break-off, of a quiet-down muffle,
a silent soundless get-away.
Just may-be, "Great Horn Owl" might be
tha powerful magestic tokin warrior figure,
that stands fer tha "Silence of tha North".
"Hoo...Hoo...Hoo, Hu...Hu...!"

Hurricane Katrina be Mother Natures finest hour,
when tha unexpected savage native recklessly swims round & bout on, now flooded streets.
08/03/05 eyewitness survivor saw very large
primative type gator invader, take by surprise,
looters pushen shoppen carts thru rivered-up streets.
New Orlean's monstrous grown croc/or gator of 80 years be an outstretched to 21' + tippen tha scales bout 4500 lbs when, giant swollen
people-eater 'twas shot to death by U S Army foot soldiers.
How many path-rods long wood that be?
So-called experts spit-out that, monstrosity dragon was feeden on human-kind cause, It was too old to catch its own natural prey.
That be tha why & wherefore grand mammoth be
deprived of life.
What bout, "Thou Shall Not Steal", Heya!

"wanderen hillbilly"

Followen a winden rocky river destination course
without purpose, wild & woolly 1, strayed-away from his group with strong desire to wander-lust.
Ther be a notion that "hill-bill" has an indomitable wilderness spirit & toughness that wood survive, even if bearded + bare-
footed. Lets not forget that 'tis here,
rugged indivdual & a God fearen plain folk with a strong sense of self, be capable of over-commen much hard-ship-of-times.
This wilding 'tis closest to his mountainous land, as well as, connected sum-way to tha explores & pioneers of America's Wild NE.
A free-trapper moumtain-man, who'd be totten his Hawkin rifle + belten a Bowie tooth knife when out of his canoe. When-in solo canoe, always be paddle floaten beside unspoiled senery keepen sharp-eye-out fer savage Bears & wild cats.
Thought he'd be missen/or lost/or killed, but like tha Black Bear symbol of his home state, he's probably wanderen far & wide searchen fer foods, foragen alone. I no 'tis time of year green plants be maturen & toughen-up, which most of them be idedible by now. Like tha Black Bear, maten season begins & males roam wildely,
but who really no's.
Be missen tha 1, who often wears that old
worn-out floppy hat luggen round a jug filled with moonshin. An image of, but not a reality!
In them ther hills, 1 no's its possible to get
a lonely sense of seclusion & isolation.
Ther be lots of space along those ridge-top
over-looks.
May-be bill just needs sum air-space in his
mountainous region of tha Allegheny backbone
wilderness. Wher rivers alternately cascades over boulders/or just flow quietly along huge
flat-slabs of stones.
A "True Light" feelen that yer really out-ther in tha "Deep-Woods" in those matue stands of trees.
"Deep_Woods" fer sur, lots & lots of big spruce greenery that grows down along tha glistenen mountain streams, wher tha weather 'tis variable wet in 'tis here unsurpassed unparalleled out-door beauty.
May-be bills in hillbilly heaven,
sitten in a rocken chair on his open porch log cabin, dwiddlen a stick of wood, cooken-up mud Turtle soup, looken-up at those
green forested hills, & just a wanderen.
Need a deliverance from that bushwacker from that backwoods remote mountain area, to here a
howleren call-out, of sill be-en alive.
Don't wander-off too far/or drift-away aimless, Heya!

Canoebear

I've had fortune,as well, to bump many lads with Northren sap fer blood, who strayed for reasons I need not know... but, somehow eventually understood... most much-bearded-and-bearfooted wisdomcatchers, too..

I reckon greater hardships than I've yet known, so neednt yet judge... i set jaw... wouldnt EVERNOW judge... meant much-some sense to much wiser than me... not meant-yet, to see firstrays...
till my own dawn comes... or comes due.

I've spent weeks afoot, seekin' footprints I knew I wasnt intended to find... much time lost pouring
teerdrops onto ashes honoured, fer
emberlives I now know I quenched,
with noble intention, and
misguided consequence.

Airspace be his, I reckin... if my thought reads pure... for you?

Lost is found.
Yer visions profound.
And time is but a paper moon.
This, I reckin, is for whom the wolves howl.
They know far more than we.

My respects,

Sundown
