Yes, Dave, I have dried out and am starting to get the next trip organized.
It's been a long time since I had one of those beside me. My youngest is 16 and the oldest who still trips with me from time to time is 24.

"A Quiet Gentle Summer Breeze"

A simple pleasant summers breeze.
It cums agin.
Foreshadowen Her appearance at tha wilderness lakes waters edge. Teasen tha pristine lake into
a mudly mild frenzy, casten ripples thru tha mirrored beaver ponds, than waven Her hair
at nights silvery moon.

Hangen-over in mute testimony,
reflecten on Her beauty & than
tha stirren of those much far below.
Viewen Her sister Earth, 2 twins alike,
in noise-sum silence.

Remember 'tis DEER TESS!
"Not even silence be silent"
cause, tha breeze of summers quiet wind,
tells all, Heya!

My thoughts are...
There is a roaring inside us all.
Silence is easy in the world I grew up in.
Silence is propriety; the easy way out.
What is difficult is hearing, feeling, responding to the roar... of our history,
our present, our self.
It is the pit of our being.
It is pain that has no name.
It is saddness that dare not speak.
It is the anger that bombs embody.
It is paved over beaver ponds, severed trees, wrecked moose, disposed peoples, the 1940s.
It is what connects and separates us.
I hear it loudest when I seek solitute
in the wilderness.

"Thanksgiven Prayer"

A prayer expressen gratitude!

Since early times, they have been our companions. We give thanks to all woodland wildlife creatures.

Early mornen, They carry messages.
we give thanks to wild Birds.

In times of danger, He warns tha people.
We give thanks to all wing Bird creatures.

In tha spring & summer, They sing sweet songs.
We give thanks to our feathered Birds.

Be late Novembers autumn when tha 1st snow falls.
We give thanks to "Tom Turkey",
North Americans Woodland Bird.

Birds that flock together, stay together.
We R thankful & much relieved that "Deer Tess"
