"Path/or Paddle in that NE Rocky Place"

A hike & canoe adventure to explore-out
'tis pristine chief NE continent of
"might & main", fer tha most part,
wood stand-out alone. Wild behavior of
Bears & moose R roamen loose in 'tis
rugged windy weather northwoods country.
To trail hike challengen mountain paths thru
thickwoods up-hill terrain, then go well above
pine tree line to lay-eyes on mind-blowen
panoramas of far-way mountain ranges be
out of sight & take 1's fresh breath away.
To wander track tha shadow of tha forest monark between rock mountain ridges & round hills,
to trace magnificent moose to ther feeden
lakes, bogs & beaver hut ponds be grand.
Largely, on tha whole, fer tha most part,
a magnitude of tru wilderness make-up
be extensive vastness of 1 eye-open significance.
To ramble march tha untouched rough & rugged
coastline to glass stunnen costal vistas is
quite rewarden too.
To head into tha interior of tha main wilderness
wher sparkle pure lakes, fallen downward streams
& tha immense wide sweepen mountains of expansive
wild northwoods be of much genuine remote wildness.
Huge mammoth wind blown lakes & savage whitewater
rivers rushed to cast down from rocky heights thru endless october autumn fall spectacular forest wood colors wher wildlife abounds.
Tha spirit of canoen is alive & well-to-order in 'tis here north main woods. To paddle thru
boggy shallow inlets of lake/or ponds to
seek-out glimps of more racked-out bull moose waden & underwater feeden. Hav to travel slow
on out-of-tha-way distant loggen roads fer moose
unleashed R let loose at large & unconfined.
To keep-up tha old practice & custum of tha institution of tha main woodsy tradition be
epitomized by picturesque of logged hunten camps that blend into tha natural forest wood settens of white pines near waters edge.
Tha northwoodsmen custum wear & gear of 'tis old
NE region is personified by kromer wool cap,
wool vest to match ther filson double red/or green plaid machinaw wool coat worn in wind
cold damp months.
Choppen wood up by-way of double handle axe to
provide fire & heat fer stove in run-down log cabin, be ther, long in tha tooth way.
Tha portray of a hunters of 'tis blustery fierce
territory is depicted by woodsmen trudgen in winters deep snow wearen Beam Boots inside of
Indian crafted snowshoes carryen a Marlin lever action repeaten rim rifle in, most likely cal 35.
His along hunten partner load haulen Native made, long, narrow toboggan used to pull drag camp tools, gear & moose meat to follow ther snowshoe trail home.
But what symbolizes tha unruly, turbulent rough
wilds of North Maines Woods is tha show of evergreen everywhere.
A belief representation of 'tis tru wilds of wilderness, is to move thru by habit practice
by-way-of canoe. Tha canoe of choice that stands-fer Maine at large 'tis Old Town's Penobscot 17' crafted in royalex in all, ever-so-green.
Long & narrow, like tha toboggan, built fer
efficiency & speed in flatwater/or fastwater,
be leaden chief Maine's-way.
'Twas a few years back when I was that far to tha NE, thought caught-sight-of turtle sunnen on a
"Rocky Place" spot near wild rivers edge, Heya!

"Wintry Wind Whispers"

Into tha great white wilderness,
U gain a sense of wintry wind that quiet down & than fall silent.
Snowshoen thru tha wild norths whitecaped woodlands, to-get-to tent encampment, be an endeavor to keep at a soundless murmur.
"Tha outstanden white true norths silence"!
'Tis raw glacial winter wonderland,
so calm, so peacefull, so remotely quiet.
'Twas frigid hush that fell over frozen lake waters & snow covered forest woods deaden sounds
of advanced backpackers convey clammor.
Isolated in wintertimes Huron Mountain thicket
of year gone by, we heard in far-off distance
a grey owl hoot & a wild lynx soft spoken cry in Up-norths wintry windchill stillness, Heya!

canoebear,
Maybe that is why I have never been bothered by a bear in camp in the many years I have been canoeing. They know I would not "desecrate/or violate tha sancity of these "Sacred Savage Lands" wood".

"Blame-It on tha Beaver"

Little Talken Brother be accused of, criticized for & found fault in contamination of pristine
wilderness lake waters.
"Beaver Feaver", impurity of a dirty thing! Impurities in tha lands of paddle lake waters
made dangerous to drink, lay at tha Beaver huts door. It be 'tis feverish taint poison that is carried by mammals from lake to linked-up lakes.
It be harmful materials that make tha air, water/or soil dirty/or polluted.
Tha mammals that follow most of tha portage path trails from lake to lake be human, canoe trippers, who camp. Tha bum rap put on poor Beavers, who lives at a single body of water all ther lives. They contact fever infections, suffer
with it & then die-out from it.
Pollution effects wildlife, plants & paddlers 2.
Blame tha Beaver fer, noise pollution, industrial waste, smoke, nuclear waste, chemical waste, landfills, burnen waste, car exhaust, raw sewage,
pesticides, fertilizers & left dirty camp-sites.
Pin it on tha Beaver fer clear-cutten by lake/river waters edge causen silt run-off to clog things-up.
Responsibility, accountability, liability & to find guilt with be that thick brown fur rodent with a fat flat tail, web feet, who lives near lakes & rivers chewen-on/or gnawwen down trees to build dams & dennen-up in tha "Wild NE Waters".
Dam Beavers, hall lets trap'em all-out,
then we'll hav pure lake water to drink from, Heya!

"Rich In Matter, Fer Sum Thought"

When a "multi-predator system" exists,
"Tha Big 3" tend to prey on
deer, elk & moose animals fer raw flesh meat
to be eaten as rich food matter.
Black Bears be tha primary predator on
bringen-down moose & calves.
Cougars prefer elk. Mountain lions
take better shape animals every 9 days &
eat 85% of ther kill.
Wolves hunt whitetail winter ranges,
but rather feed on elk & moose meat
if given tha advantage. Winter snows mix
determines tha fix on who gets eaten/or
suffers try-en. Every 2-to-3 days pack make a kill & wolf-down nearly 80% of dead carcass.
Tha wolf pack torments prey to death.
With Bear in mind, even if wolves come to
nothen in putten bloody-up prey to death,
in due time, just tha stress alone will
take toll on prey, becomen food fer other.
Ther be tha matter of up & down measured food spells with "Tha Big 3" go-en fer tha meat.
When wild game gets less, deprived pack trespass
on rival wolves marked territory.
Now crowded occupy dwellers be pressed to kill-off intruders resulting in a decline in wolf #'s + births 2.
When thers not enough healthy victims to seize &
devour fer cougars fill, they starve to death.
What goes round, comes about!
Winter kills be a spring Bears feast, Heya!

Paul,

Saw old lone white wolf fight Black Bear over
dead moose carcass, but never saw in tha wild,
a Bear & moose ingaged in mortal conflict.
Made moose mad once. Took note of humped hairs
standen straight-up with big cow ears all laid back while smacken his lips at my annyance.
I wood hav like to see irritated bull kick forward his front hooves at nuisance northwood men, but ran into middle of clump tree thicket
fer protection. His bluff charge only went a
few yards, then turned bout & sauntered away, Heya!

"Reviven Tha Soul"

A paddle dippen into brilliant blue lake waters,
tha splash of a beavers tail,
tha echoen call of a loon,
a full moon show its face on glassy lake,
whisperen winds carry wolf howls duren tha night,
forest is full of various colors,
cool fresh air is clean,
a sharp Bowie Knife,
mornen dew collects on standen A-Frame tent,
sounds of bull moose racks in combat,
smell of food cooken on hot fire pit,
fish eaten frinzy early evening,
tha tranquillity of isolation,
eagle soar overhead,
portage packs R sorted-out in beached canoe,
rough rugged uneven terrain,
signs of Black Bear racken apple tree,
Paint Turtle sunnen itslf mid-day on rock shore,
'tis may bring 1 back to life, Heya!

"Howlen at tha Moon"

Beyond doubt, howlen explains tha meanen of
long call/or puts a fix on time & place to meet.
Howlen be remote unaccompanied long-winded song
note, communicaten a message of info to others.
Howlen surely, a technique system/or routine method for worken wolf group that be wellorganized & well-run, a must to survive.
Tha howl distinguish who tha wolf is &
differentiates it from any other wildlife
UP-North. A cry of its own, fer sur!
Tha heart of tha wolf band be tha pack.
Howlen keeps tha pack together.
Wolf packs that howl to harmonize in agreement/or
cooperation together will stay united together.
That prolong, carry-on, run-on cry can be heard over uneven rugged terrain over vast remoteness.
Tha howl is a long-distance call, to make contact,
to join forces together, to link-up & fuse as 1.
To divide & separate wood be ther demise!
Chorus howl winds carry draw-out tune music thru
evergreens & maples, down rough ridges to rebound songs sound off along-side out-cropped heights, only to disperse melody across big lake waters &
then to lose final lyrics over wild rushen river fallen noice.
Wolves howl is to communicate, to speak to/or
speak with, to reach-out, to get in touch with
ther companions, to keep them together,
'tis benifits tha whole pack.
Tha howl of tha NE be "Tha Call of tha Wild", Heya!
