I noticed while travelling in the Chiniguchi area and along the Sturgeon River over the last few years there doesn't seem to be alot of wildlife around. Anyone have a reason for this? Is there more wildlife (moose, coons, birds etc) in the Solace park or north? Any opinions?

the critters can be there one minute and gone the next, it's all a matter of luck, timing and being quiet.
we've always had good luck with bears in the areas you mention- closest encounter i've ever had was on the chiniguchi.
On the other hand in 20+ years i have never seen a raccoon in temagami, except once behind the old temagami tavern on hwy 11!
