Has anyone out there fished on this river with success? I've been interested in doing a trip down this river for couple of years. I'd probably start on ross lake and go up to four bass lake. I'm looking for info on how long of trek that would be and what to expect for water levels in August, and most importantly, what to hope for with fishing. Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hard to be certain about water as this is a dam controlled river.

The Matabitchuan is only 3 km long from Rabbit to the last portage. There's 6 deep pools that could hold walleye and pike.
After the last portage, there's definitely fish. Caught many. It opens up to fourbass.
