Planning a trip to the north and south channel of the lady evelyn river around the August long weekend. Putting in Thursday the 3rd at Sandy inlet on Ferguson bay, going into Diamond and staying near lady evelyn "falls" on night one. The first question is how are the portages through cleary pond Crowley lake and klutz lake into willow island. Is it worth saving the distance or should I head north on lady evelyn lake and take the 285 and 410 over. Planning to stay night 2 near Frank falls or possibly push to center falls. Second question is how busy will this area be at this time? Wondering if I should not be picky on campsites. Night three on either bridal veil or fat man's. Then question 3 what is the "best" way back to diamond? The 2 "miler" or the same way I came in. We are not leaving til tues so we basically have an extra day as the plan is to get close to Sandy inlet on Monday and out earlyish on Tuesday but not necessary. Any other comment or tips are always welcome.

Thanks Dave

Not sure what condition those 3 portages to Willow Island are in. Let us know if you go.

Given that you are going to Center on the long weekend, I wish you luck. You are traveling at the peak of the season on one of the most popular routes. On the other hand, if the weather stays as it is, traffic will be down this year.

As for the Two-Miler, if you are doing one trip on a portage, I would recommend it, especially if time is critical.
