I know this place exists. I've eaten toast with tea in the kitchen on a rainy paddle.
But it seems not to exist on the internet.
Which is even better.
but can someone help me with this, please?
And recommended campsites between Caracel Creek and Matagamasi Lake.
Heading up in three weeks.
Hope the paddling has been good for you all.

Yes, it does exist. More of a family/friend operation. It is at the very north end, east side of Chiniguchi Lake just before the liftover into Sawhorse. It is run by the Hinds of Skead.
The campsite at the mouth of Carafel Creek is nice because of the natural waterslide.
The campsites on Mattagamasi's northeast arm before McCarthy Bay are nice.

A campsite at Karl falls across from the portage landing has a wild feeling to it.

Do you mean the lodge at the north end of Chiniguchi Lake...or the old Taylor Statten outpost camp on Maskinonge?
A few years ago, someone bought that and called it Chiniguchi Outpost. Amanda ran it for a few years, then we heard it was up for sale again last summer.

just out of curiosity,
we heard a fishing lodge had burnt down.
but it was unclear whether it was Lakeland Lodge or the one on Murray Lake?
anyone know the skinny on said fire?
15 days up in the Chiniguchi system.
new territory through Carefal Lake and Creek.
Bloody Beavers seem to be working overtime.
Kukagami Lake was a lovely surprise.
And a very sincere shout out to
Friends of Temagami for the lovely thunderboxes and shovels, et al.
that is serving your community in a very real way. much appreciated. any chance we could get some queen size beds on to those campsites?
my back is not what it used to be.
Happy Change of Seasons and Thanksgiving to all.

There have been two lodge fires, both log buildings: Lakeland Lodge on Lake Wanapitei in January 2013 and Pine Falls Lodge on Murray Lake in March 2015.
