Heading for the Churchill

The boxcar boys. Re-outfitting in a boxcar.

The southbound passenger train from Labrador City dropped us off at Oreway stop after a two-hour trip. Lac á l’ Eau-Claire is a 700-yard portage from there. Our gear came along in a boxcar about forty-five minutes later. The boxcar was ours for the afternoon. This made for a convenient spot to pack our wannigans with our re-outfit, which we purchased in a Lab City IGA only hours before.
