Ice to the landing
OGAMA ISLAND, LAKE TEMAGAMI, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17 —
I
took Suzanne out to the road landing by boat on Tuesday, anticipating that
the ice would be hard to break. Evidently there were boats that managed
by midday Wednesday. They are hardy souls as it was a brisk minus 18 C with
15-kilometre winds.
I drove around a bit in the boat, but the ice was too tough from Temagami |

Lodge to the landing. As there was no place to go, I pulled it out. I decided to check the ice to the landing via Phillips Bay. I found two to three inches with some dicey parts. No concern to a fast sled…
