FULL STORY

MARCH 1, 2011

Revived canoe routes, new trails and access over the last decade

Over the first decade of the century, many portages (all nastawgan) were revived. Adventurous trekkers constructed new hiking trails, including the tour-de-force, Ottawa Temiskaming Highland Trail.

Add to that, courtesy of the logging industry and Ontario Parks, three new access points: one improved, and two re-opened.

What a decade! Explore the routes online.
