Looking at the solace area this summer. I have one map that shows a campsite on maggie lake, but I have not seen it on other maps. Can anyone confirm if there is in fact a campsite in Maggie Lake and confirm if the location is correct? Thank you! |

Gosh it's been at least a decade ... But I am fairly sure I camped on Maggie. IIRC the campsite was pretty good, on a little north-looking point on the eastern shore.

OK ... just checked with my padding buddy Rattlesnake Bob. He says certain there is a site in Maggie and we've stayed there twice. ... and it's really nice... and we had good fishing in there

Great! Thank you! We plan on looping from Solace up through broadbent lake to Maggie. Did you by chance travel this way? Curious about the condition of those portages as I do not see them on all the maps. |

The portages south from Broadbent do not exist. We managed to bushwack the first two...as we could not imagine why there would not be portages. Very beautiful area. If I were to try it again, I could start from the south, as the longest distances are out of Maggie. OTOH...staff at Findlayson told me they plan to open this route this summer. |

The portages north to Broadbent from Solace via Einar are perfectly fine. |

"Did you by chance travel this way?" No .. both times were fly-in to Solace then paddle out to the east |

Indeed the portages between Solace and Broadbent are well used. It is the links between Maggie and Broadbent that are missing... as referred to above. As per the Ottertooth map. |
