We are heading up to Temagami on Saturday for a 7 night trip into Solace starting at Twinkle Lake. We plan on camping at Yorston Pool, Benner, Solace, Selkirk, Pilgrim, Florence, Pinetorch. Does anyone have any information on the route from Florence to Pinetorch via Ames Creek? Are water level in Skooztagan still good because of Beaver activity? What are water levels in Ames Creek like between Skooztagan and Pine Lake?
Has anyone traveled from Pinetorch to Twinkle recently? What are water levels/portages like in that area.

All recent reports on Skooztawgan show low water levels and extremely muddy north bay (the one leading to portage towards Florence), so expect to portage extra along the shore, probably with no established trail. As for the portages from Pinetorch towards Twinkle, I've been there in July 2022 and they were in reasonable shape (and water was aplenty). |

If the beaver dam is there Skootztawgan will have plenty of water. There is a trail north but the high water can mask the landing. |
