-To paddle yer canoe on a calm stream denotes yer perfect confidence in yer ability to conduct business at hand in profitable-way.
-To side paddle with a sweetheart, means 1 early
marriage & soon to follow, fidelity.
-Be canoe trippen on rough rocked bend fast moven
river waters, like tha Mistissibi, U may hav to tame tha shrew before U attain connubial bliss.
-Affairs in tha business world may prove much disappointen after yer dream of canoen in mud-up waters.
-If tha waters R shallow but swift, a hasty courtship/or stolen pleasures, from which ther be no lasten good, R indicated.
Canoe polen in much shallow, clear, & calm beaver stream waters may show happiness of a pleasen character, but only fer short moon lit time.
-Wilderness wilds waters is typical of futurity in tha dream realms.
-If a pleasant immediate future awaits tha canoe dreamer, U may cum in close proximity with a splash of sum clear pristine water ahead.
-Or if, tha canoe dreamest emerges from disturbed watery elements into waken life, tha near future is filled with many rough portages fer the
canoe explorer.

Canoe dreamen is not fer tha faint of heart!
Its not daydreamen, tha sleep runs much deeper,
like standen way-top of out-cropped cliff waters edge & a wanderen what-if.
It may be that yer thoughts, images/or emotions
run wild duren yer deep undisturbed sleep.
A state of mind wher a wilderness canoest may-be
lost in dream-like fanies/or reveries may-be dangerous.
Yer dreamt-tunnel-vision desire, may-be 1 of beauty of enjoyable quality. Keep a strong grip
on yer long wood paddle dreams, fer once lost,
yer up-creek & much out-of-control, lost & alone.
I don't hav any idea of level of canoe experties
U may hav developed thru yer years exploren tha
NE wilderness, but before put-ins always take note
of tha "always changen elements".
I canoed fer tha 1st time 'tis year on tha
wild white-caped Chain-O-Lakes at my back door, with dark grey windy skies over-head.
It over-cum my fears!

Canoebear, yesterday was by BD...every year I think, ah, this is no big deal, too many birthdays have gone by to care anymore, just another day etc. etc.
Then the day comes. I visit my grandparents, my wonderful wise elders in their mid-80s. I take my dogs to our special secret place among beaver wetlands. And then I sit wrapped in blankets under the big maple tree with my son and we tell stories about the many canoes trips we took together as he grew up.
So this morning I am full of peace and love and admit that this one day each year is indeed special. |

Hey kim,
Ed should of taken U & me with!
I been hiken fer 3 months now, my off-season strength conditionen is wher it needs to be,
but been wind rain-on fer tha last 5 weeks.
Spring storms put canoen in a holden pattern
fer a bit. Before I'd take any canoe trip,
I'd hav to be paddle seasoned before venturen
Up-North 'tis early. U guys just had ice-out.

Ed actually is tripping with his little pooch Pepper.Pepper is lugging the crapper.(kidding)
There has been a temporary halt on the logging in some areas .Earthroots asked for a bump up request (review)Thanks for the letter to Dalton.Every letter helps!
Ed is from Guelph and has spent a lot of time in Temagami tripping over the last 30 years. |
