Re-Building the Keewaydin Dock In March 1989, George Mathias re-built the Keewaydin main dock. Left to right: Will Reimers, Diane Toogood, Dan Carpenter Jr., Bill Carpenter, Glen Toogood, George Mathias. There had been a big snowstorm the previous night. Will and Fred flew in to our place and stayed with us for a night, because Glen and Diane had family staying with them that weekend. So this is what we found when we took a ride over to camp. George and his crew straightened out the stringers and hauled a lot of rock from the mainland for the cribs, using a large trailer and an old Suburban. They had plowed a road up the snowmachine trail to get there. I think a few fishermen caught some air as they were traveling up the lake and hit those snowbanks. Dan Carpenter Jr. |
